LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 340-330 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.77 g, 2 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of barley ears, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. META Ear of barley with leaf to right; to left, kerykeion above ΛY. Johnston Class A, 1.5. HN Italy 1556. A lustrous and attractive coin. Light die break on the obverse and some minor roughness, otherwise, extremely fine.
